The City

The City is a new online network that Richland Creek will use to help our people connect with each other and ministry opportunities. If you are plugged into Richland Creek, you should have already received an e-mail invitation into the City. If you have not received an invitation and would like to get on the City, visit our City Champions desk in the front lobby on a Sunday morning.

Why The City?

We're using the City to help Creekers commit, connect and communicate.

Every member and frequent attender of Richland Creekshould be committed to the local church — the church is God’s Plan A for fulfillment of the Great Commission, and there is no Plan B. The City will be a place where God’s people demonstrate commitment to their church.
Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. 1 Peter 2:10

The City is a place where the committed believers of Richland Creek can connect anytime with each other, with God’s Word, and with ministry opportunities. Without relationships, we will be ineffective in kingdom service, and so the City will promote meaningful relationships.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. Hebrews 10:24-25

We serve a God who communicates with us, through His Word and ultimately through His Son. We communicate by being in His Word privately, and then communicating about it collectively. The City is a tool which enables us to communicate easily and effectively.
But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Hebrews 3:13

When and how can I get on the City?
If we already have your e-mail address, you should have received an e-mail invitation into the City. If we don't have your e-mail address, contact the church office so that we can get a current e-mail address from you.

What do I need to get on the City?
All you need is a unique e-mail address. Every individual City user must have a unique e-mail address to use the City.

Is the City private and secure?
Yes! The City is only for those who are involved in group life at Richland Creek, so you won't encounter people in the City that you wouldn't encounter at the Creek. What's more, with the City you control how much of your contact information you want others to see.

Plus, unlike most social network sites like Facebook, the information you post in the City belongs  to the church, not to a company whose primary purpose is to sell you something or make money off of you. The purpose of the City is to strengthen the church.

Why should I use the City?
As we state above, to commit, connect and communicate! The City is a tool that Creekers can use to stay connected to each other and to ministry, and that is how it should be used.
