Looking for the Right Church?

What should you look for in a church?  Music style?  Friendly people?  Exciting programs?
Certain traditions?  The latest Christian Fad?

What does the Bible prescribe as the measure of a good church?  According to the Bible,
the most important measure of a church is how it handles the Word of God.  The New Testament
has 3 books (1st & 2nd Timothy & Titus) written to pastors explaining church protocol.  In fact, 25 of
the 30 commands given refer to the faithful teaching and preaching of God’s Word.
None are about
style, music, programs, or traditions.  Only God knows exactly what you truly need, and His method
of providing it is via the clear, line-by-line teaching of His Word.

Are you looking for a church?  Make every effort to find one that exalts God’s Word; where its
consistent and accurate teaching strengthens, feeds, and changes your life.  Don’t settle for, or
subject your family to, anything less!

Here at Richland Creek, the entire staff, Elders, and Deacons are excited to exalt the authority and
     priority of God’s Word.

Why Become a Member?

Membership identifies us as a follower of Christ.  We come together with other believers as the Body of Christ.  Many members, but one body (Ephesians 2:19, Romans 12:5).

Membership provides a spiritual family and moves us away from isolation.  It provides accountability and a nurturing environment to grow.  We encourage one another daily to keep us from backsliding and to become snared by sin’s deceitfulness (Galatians 6:1-2; Ephesians 5:21).

Membership gives us a place to discover and use our spiritual gifts in ministry.  It helps us develop and strengthen our faith where God can use us to build His church (1 Cor. 12:4-27).

As members of Christ’s body, we are His hands, His feet, His eyes, His heart.  It is an incredible privilege to share in His ministry and be God’s instruments on earth (Hebrews 13:17; 20:28-29).

God desires you to be an active part of a local church.  “Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as some are in the habit of doing, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Membership Process

God desires the church to be a family of believers who grow, share, serve and worship together.
Becoming a member is like becoming part of a family.  Only as a family member, can you experience
the benefits of being in such a community.

Our membership process is designed to give everyone a solid foundation of our beliefs, values, and
Christian principles, along with encouraging members to commit to protecting, supporting, and
serving the church.  What joy there is when we experience God’s movement in His church!  Come
and be part of our family as we grow together in this spiritual journey!

Steps Towards Membership

     1.  We invite you to walk forward at the end of the service to the pastor and express your desire to
be a part of the family.  You will then be presented as a candidate for membership.

     2.  As a member candidate you will be introduced to Richland Creek's doctrines, core values,
ministry philosophy, and ministry opportunities through the Discovering Your Cross (for new
Christians only), and Discovering Church Membership and Ministries courses.
