Ministry Opportunities

We ask that you prayerfully consider how you may serve the Lord in a ministry here at Richland Creek. There is a ministry opportunity for everyone.  If you are interested in getting involved, please call the church office and we can direct you to the appropriate leader or contact person.

Immediate Needs

· Sanctuary Chair Set-up Team:  3 volunteers to ensure the set up of the sanctuary chairs for Sun. worship services.  Teams rotate months throughout the year.  Contact: Pastor John @ 556-9292.

· Meals and More Team:  Volunteers needed to provide meals to families during times of need.  Contact Pastor John @ 556-9292.

· Opportunities to Serve in the Children's Ministry:  Stop by the bulletin board in the Children’s hallway to see how you might serve the Lord and the Richland Creek families through our Children’s Ministry. Contact Pastor Steve for more info. @ 556-9292

· Welcoming Team:  Volunteers needed for Greeting, Tour Guides & Coffee Ministry.  Contact Thom Fishow @ 414-1111 or tfishow@richlandcreek.com

· Ushers:  Serve in the service you attend.  Positions rotate every other week.  Contact Pastor John @ 556-9292.

Administrative Services

Office Volunteers
Serve as a receptionist in the church office from time to time. Responsibilities include receiving guests and directing phone calls to the proper person. 

Help out with bulk mailings, bulletin insertions and other projects.  

Maintenance/Building & Grounds
Help with ongoing special projects that involve occasional carpentry, painting, and general upkeep of the office/facility. Use your skills for the Lord.

Adult Sunday School

Adult Class Teachers
Teach a balanced Christian curriculum to adults. (Must be an RCCC member at least six months unless approved by pastoral staff).

Adult Class Inreach Leaders
Promote interest, encouragement, relationship development, and caring among class members. Help organize the class to meet special needs of individual members. 

Adult Class Outreach Ministries
Promote a member interest and willingness to bring non-churched people to class. Encourage contact of visitors alongside evangelism outreach teams. 

Adult Class Prayer Leaders
Promote interest among members to pray for each other and organize prayer chains for urgent requests. 

Adult Class Senior Ministry
Assist in planning and implementing special services and activities for senior adults.

Leadership Team
Assist in providing leadership to the Sunday School Class. Also get involved with small group studies as well as an outreach to the local college and university students.

Evangelism & Missions

Outreach/Visitation
Wednesday nights at 6:30-8:00 pm
Join us on Wednesday nights from 6:30-8:00 pm to make a personal visit with first time guests from the previous week.

Decision Support Team

This team is available during worship services and other evangelistic events to ensure that individuals making decisions for Christ receive proper prayer support, guidance, and encouragement.

Mission Ministry Team
Assist in planning and implementing the missions strategy of Richland Creek. Includes the annual Missions Conference, calendaring of International and North American mission trips, and on-going missions awareness. Click here for more information

Men's Ministries

Annual Men's Retreat
Help plan, pray, and prepare for the annual men's mountain retreat, normally held the first weekend in May, as a way to promote fellowship and spiritual development among the men of our church and community.

Music and Drama

Costumes
Repair, design, and sew costumes for drama productions.

Makeup
Work with stage and specialty makeup by assisting with the Christmas, Easter and other drama productions.

Meal Preparation Helpers
Prepare and serve meals to choir and drama participants.

Multimedia
Learn how to operate lighting, sound, video and/or PowerPoint for the Sunday services or special events. 

Props/Backstage Helpers
Assist in making props and work backstage at drama presentations.

Choir
Participate on a year-round basis to provide music for worship services, pageants, and feature presentations. This is a non-audition choir, but a heart for worship is required. Rehearsal is every Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

CREEK Kids Praise
Minister to children by assisting with children's worship choir, which sings and rehearses every Sunday evening. 

Praise Teams
These auditioned groups lead in worship and sing featured music on a rotating basis. 

Featured Special Music
Offer featured music in the way of solos, small groups or ensembles either vocal, instrumental or dramatic on a rotating basis. 

Instrumental Praise
If you play a band or orchestra instrument, join this growing group of musicians who lead in worship each week. Rehearsals are Sundays at 4:00 p.m.

Hospital Visitation
Minister to the families in the congregation through hospital visitation.

Prayer Ministry

Morning Tide
Commit to pray with others for one morning worship service hour once every three months. 

Student Ministry Prayer Team
Continually lift up our students, special events, and student workers in prayer.

Men's Tuesday Morning Prayer Watch
Meet at 6:00a.m. in the church fellowship hall with other men to pray for one hour of praise, adoration, and intercessory prayer on behalf of the Body of Christ. 

Women's Prayer
Meet at the church Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 6:00 am and Saturdays at 7:00 am.

Children's Ministry

Sunday School Teachers - Preschool & Elementary
Teach one hour each Sunday using biblically based curriculum and attend scheduled training sessions. 

AWANA
Teach children ages 3 through 5th grade on Wednesday nights using AWANA curriculum. 

Legacy Lodge
Volunteer to teach or assist in our Sunday morning worship hour for children, ages kindergarten through 5th grade.  

Preschool Wednesday Evening Teachers
Teach 90-minute sessions weekly using biblically-based curriculum for bed babies and toddlers. 

Sunday Morning Preschool Extended Session Rotation
Help with sessions during morning worship services with a monthly rotation. 

CREEK Kids Praise
Minister to children by assisting with children's worship choir, which sings and rehearses every Sunday evening. 

Upward Basketball
Upward Basketball and Cheerleading coaches, referees, and administration (contact Gary Workman @ 562-5151

Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Vacation Bible School. Meets on Sunday nights for 9 weeks in the Summer. Join us for an exciting voyage through the Bible featuring stories, music, drama, crafts, and more.

Join others in the planning and execution of many special events at Richland Creek, such as the Summer Ice Cream Socials, Baptisms, and church-wide conferences and seminars.

Student Ministries

Sunday School
Volunteers are needed to teach students, call them during the week, reach out to visitors, plan and attend socials, and pray for our students. 

Youth Leadership Team
Provide spiritual and practical leadership for weekly ministries (on Sunday night or Wednesday evenings) or for special youth activities by serving as chaperone, counselor, transportation coordinator, Sunday evening snack supper helper or by fulfilling a number of other roles.

Women's Ministries

Bible Study Leaders
Lead small groups of ladies in prayer, Bible study and fellowship in a classroom or home setting. Weekly/seasonal. 

Annual Ladies Retreat
This experience rich in fellowship and Bible study is a favorite among our ladies. Assist in the "legwork" of making this fall experience for ladies a stepping stone in their faith walk. 

Women's Prayer
Meet with ladies at various times of the week to pray for the church, urgent needs, the Women's Ministry and upcoming women's events. Assist in growing this important ministry. 

Special Ladies Events
Take a leadership role in planning such events as ladies picnics, teas, fellowships, and local conferences.

Worship Support

Wednesday Night Family Dinners
Assist with preparation, serving, and clean-up of family dinners each Wednesday evening. 

Hospitality Ministry
Assist with set-up of hospitality tables on Sunday morning and help serve coffee for all guests and attendees. 

Set Up Team
Assist on Saturday evenings to set up chairs for Sunday morning services.  Your team serves every other month. 

Parking Attendants
Greet, direct, and assist drivers to appropriate parking spaces and assist guests to the main entrance of the building. 

Baptismal Celebrations
Support the pastoral staff by ensuring a meaningful baptismal party for candidates desiring immersion. Duties include securing a facility, publicity, personal contact with candidates, preparation of baptismal certificates, etc.

Greeter Ministry
Warmly welcome guests as they arrive for Sunday School and/or worship, assist guests to their destination, answer questions, and be a friendly facilitator as people enter and exit the church facility. 

Sign Language
Communicate the worship service using your skills interpreting for the deaf. Additionally, a Sunday School class for our deaf guests and members occasionally requires extra support. 

Usher Ministry
Assist worshippers as they enter the sanctuary by greeting and seating them, supplying bulletins, and collecting the tithes and offerings.
