F.A.Q.'s

  1. What is a podcast?
  2. Do I need an iPod?
  3. What sermons/lessons will I be receiving?
  4. Is there a charge for downloading or subscribing to a podcast?
  5. How do I subscribe to The Creekcast with iTunes?
  6. Do I have to subscribe to listen to Richland Creek audio?

1. What is a podcast?

Average Joe answer:
The term comes from combining “iPod” and “broadcast.”
An easy way to understand it is audio on demand. You listen when it’s convenient for you. Early bird or night owl, podcasting can fit your schedule!

Techie answer:
Audio content delivered via RSS.

Audio files on a website are not "true" podcasts unless users can subscribe to the RSS feed to receive new content as it is published.

2. Do I need an iPod?

No!
You can listen to the podcast right on your computer using iTunes (recommended; works on Windows & Mac),  Windows Media Player (Windows) or RealPlayer (Mac).
You probably already have one of these installed on your computer if you've listened to audio before, if not, download for free using the links above.

You can also upload audio to any brand of MP3 player and listen while on the go, mowing the yard, at the gym, on the bus, wherever! (Some people have even been known to download the podcasts, burn them to CD and play them in their car stereo, home stereo or portable CD player.)

3. What sermons/lessons will I be receiving?

The Creekcast will include all Sunday morning and Wednesday evening recorded audio. On Sunday mornings, we choose one of the four services to record and broadcast. If you subscribe to The Creekcast, these sermons/lessons will automatically be delivered to your computer via iTunes or RSS.

4. Is there a charge for downloading or subscribing to a podcast?

Absolutely not! Podcasts are free of charge; so feel free to subscribe right away! You WILL need to have an account with Apple in order to subscribe with iTunes (but don't worry, that's free too!). Some RSS readers do not require an account.

5. How do I subscribe to The Creekcast with iTunes?

1. Click here.
2. A window should pop-up, asking for permission to launch iTunes.
3. Click "OK"
4. Viola! iTunes should do the rest.

Now you are ready to listen. Give iTunes time to download the latest sermon and then double-click to play. You can also download past sermons and listen to those as well.

6. Do I have to subscribe to listen to Richland Creek audio?

No. You can click on individual sermon titles, or even entire sermon series, and listen to them from your web browser. We recommend a subscription because it automates the process and sends you audio as soon it's ready, but it is in no way required.
