Hey Creek Parents! Summer is just around the corner and it is the perfect season for vacations and family fun. It is a time of relaxation and a break from routines...well, most routines anyway. One routine to never get away from is teaching your kids about God.

Hey Parents! April is Small Group Emphasis Month here at the Creek. Small Groups are the best way to plug into life at the Creek and build lasting relationships. As we celebrate this month, I wanted to share with you all my heart on the importance of the Elementary Small Groups.

I wanted to share with you all an article from DiscipleBlog.com based on a sermon by John Piper that details 5 possible hindrances to kids coming to faith in Christ.

"Faster, higher, stronger." That is the Olympic motto. Like many of you, I am enjoying watching the Olympics with my kids. We look forward to seeing the variety of sporting events and the many countries represented. No matter the sport, all of these athletes are striving for the same goal: Olympic gold. This got me to thinking about the goals we may strive for as Christian parents.

It has been said that the foundation for parenting is marriage. There is no better way to show our children love than to express and model it to our spouse.

Our kids are blessed to live in a world full of technology we could have only dreamed of when we were their age. This can present both a tremendous opportunity and a tremendous challenge as we seek to disciple our kids for Christ.

To homeschool, or not to homeschool? That may be the question you are prayerfully considering. Homeschooling can be an amazing educational option for your kids and for you as parents. But is it right for your kids and for you?

It' "March Madness" time! The brackets are being filled out and people are getting ready to cheer on their favorite college team. While this is a time of great excitement, it can also be a time where we let our emotions and fan loyalties lead us to act in a sinful manner. This is something I refer to as "March Badness."

Do you love your children? Of course you do! A better question might be “Do your children know that you love them?” As Christian parents, we must love our children and let them know it.

Discipline is a big part of discipleship. Our kids need to know the rules and the boundaries as we help them to follow Christ.

As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I wanted to share the following Scripture of encouragement with you all: "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward." (Psalm 127:3)
