Lay elder nomination
The Richland Creek Elder Body is pleased to present to the congregation Daniel Brooker as a candidate for the position of Lay Elder.

Daniel's Bio and Testimony
Daniel grew up in New Bern, in eastern North Carolina, and moved to Raleigh in 2006 after attending college at East Carolina University and marrying his wife, Catherine. When he was a child, his family attended church, but Daniel did not know what it meant to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. That changed after he and Catherine moved to Raleigh, as God began to work in Daniel’s life through several factors: his wife’s witness (Catherine was already a Christian), gospel sermons on the radio, and, perhaps most pointedly, the birth of his oldest son in 2010. God used the occasion of becoming a father to stir a desire in Daniel’s heart to know Him.
Daniel and Catherine began attending Richland Creek not long after, and through the teaching of the Word and the community of disciples, Daniel saw the gospel on display. He surrendered in faith to Christ during a new member’s class at Richland Creek, fully understanding that God, in his love, provided forgiveness and reconciliation in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was baptized shortly thereafter and has faithfully walked with Christ at the Creek ever since. Daniel has served as a Life Group leader for more than a decade, as a deacon for several years, and, this past year, as vice chairman of the deacon body.
Daniel and Catherine have three children: Tristan, Madelyn, and Corbin. He works for a Raleigh-area company in the field of information technology.
Timeline Moving Forward
- At a family meeting on Sunday, November 8, following the second service, we will present Daniel to the church, share why he is being nominated for this position, and allow him a few minutes to speak to you all.
- On November 15, during our morning worship services, our church family will vote to confirm Daniel in this position. All members over the age of 18 are eligible to vote. Paper ballots will be available in the front foyer all morning, and email voting will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day. Email votes should be submitted to vote@richlandcreek.com and should include the member’s full name.
- If he is confirmed, we will ordain Daniel during both morning worship services on November 29.
As always, if you have questions about anything as we walk through this process, you can speak to any of our pastors. Thank you for your prayerful and careful consideration.
