Do you sense the Lord calling you to long term missions or church planting? Our sending pathway is designed to help you discover your calling, develop your abilities, and deploy you on mission with the gospel.
Sending Pathway
1 . Active Membership
Faithfulness to God's mission begins with faithfulness to a church. We require you to be an active member of Richland Creek for at least one year before being commissioned. Active membership includes:
• Regular Attendance in Worship Services
• Regular Life Group Involvement
• Regular Grow Group Involvement
• Regular Serving and Missions Involvement
• Regular Giving
2 . Go Training
Go Training is an 8-month cohort designed to equip our congregation to grow in evangelism and missions. The basic structure of this training is a twohour meeting once a month. If you wish to be sent out by Richland Creek, you must complete the Go Training Missions Cohort.
In each session, we study the life of Paul to learn biblical foundations for mission. Additionally, every team will work on an evangelism project with a mentor. Finally, there are various practical learning opportunities, including local evangelism, prayer walking, and cross-cultural experiences.
3 . Readiness Assessment
1. Assessment Questionnaire
You will fill out a questionnaire to assess calling, character, missional experience, missions philosophy/goals, and theology.
2. Formal Interview
After filling the questionnaire, you will meet with a pastor or a group of leaders to conduct an interview seeking sending approval.
3. Elder Body Approval
After the interview, you will be presented for approval to the Elder Body.
4. Focused Development
We don't only want you to go, we want you to go as one approved. After the readiness assessment, you will receive specific tasks and training to further equip you in Great Commission work.
CHURCH PLANTER DEVELOPMENT
You will be assigned planting resources to study and work on developing your Church Planting Prospectus.
MISSIONARY DEVELOPMENT
You will be assigned missions resources to study and work on your Missional Project.
5. Commissioning
1. Commissioning Before the Congregation
Once you have a confirmed location of service, we will recognize and commission you before the congregation.
2. Recruit a Partner Care Team
You will help recruit a Partner Care Team to ensure ongoing partnership after you leave Richland Creek. Each team consists of 3-8 members who care for our Mission Partners and advocate for them within the congregation.
3. Partnership Expectation
Before your departure, you will work with the Missions Office to establish expectations for your ongoing partnership with Richland Creek.
6. Ongoing Care
Assignments While on the Field
1. Ongoing communication with Partner Care Team and Missions Pastor.
2. Partnership Assessment once a year.
Assignments During State-Side/Visiting Richland Creek
1. Visit Richland Creek to encourage congregation.
2. Connect with Partner Care team and add members to the team if needed.
